24 June 2024 – CFO Project Management Division Senior Officers Mr. Warner Dawal, Ms. Patricia Marie Salvador, and Ms. Kristine Gacer facilitated a one-day PESO Sense Kaalamang Pinansyal Tungo Sa Kaunlaran (Kapit Ka) Financial Literacy Training for 50 National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Finance Officers. The training was held at Camp Bagong Diwa, Bicutan, Taguig.

During the opening ceremonies, Police Colonel Raquel Lingayo, the Chief of the Regional Finance Unit (RFU) of the NCRPO, stressed the training’s importance in equipping the participants with the skills and knowledge to manage their hard-earned money, avoid scams, and take out loans responsibly.
Ms. Gacer started the presentation by introducing the CFO to the participants, then explained in depth the PESO Sense program and the CFO’s advocacy to teach Filipinos—whether in the Philippines or abroad—how to manage their finances more wisely.

Mr. Dawal then proceeded with the first part of the Kapit Ka training, delving into the objectives of financial literacy and financial planning, knowing one’s financial standing, a financial fitness quiz, and prioritizing expenses. In the afternoon session, Ms. Salvador tackled the following topics: Preparing Dream Matrix; The Right Formula of Saving; Preparation of Personal Income and Expense Tracker (PIET); 10 Commandments to be Financially Literate; and Oath of Financial Literacy.

During the side meeting with the PNP, PCOL Lingayo mentioned RFU-NCR’s plan to provide more financial education-related training for PNP personnel and shared her plans to create a pool of trainers among the force.

The Kapit Ka finacial literacy training is prt of the CFO’s PESO Sense program, which promotes productive expenditure, more significant savings, and entrepreneurship. It equips individuals with the knowledge and tools to make informed financial decisions, empowering them to achieve financial stability.
