CFO HIGHLIGHTS ITS PROJECTS IN ENRICH HK’S LECTURE SERIES

March 9, 2025 – The Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) presented its projects during the Enrich HK’s lecture series entitled, “Going Home for Good: Are You Ready?,” which was attended by migrant workers who are preparing to go back home to the Philippines.

Enrich HK is a non-government organization, which provides various programs to migrant domestic workers in Hong Kong that aim to empower them through education. It has been implementing webinar series that focus on supporting workers as they prepare to return and reintegrate into their home countries. Other topics discussed during the webinar include retirement planning, investments, income ideas, and psychosocial preparation.

CFO Secretary Dante “Klink” Ang II delivered the opening remarks during the webinar. He commended the migrant workers’ commitment to plan ahead and to secure a fulfilling future as they return home. He emphasized how essential it is to be well-prepared and that reintegration is not just about returning physically—it is about having financial stability, ensuring emotional readiness, and creating new opportunities.

Ms. Patricia Marie Salvador, from the CFO’s Project Management Division (PMD), introduced CFO’s mandate and its BaLinkBayan (BLB) Project. She encouraged our kababayans to utilize the BLB portal, a one-stop shop offering information to overseas Filipinos in business, philanthropy and online government services, for their needs in the Philippines.

In addition, Mr. Warner Dawal, also from the PMD, talked about financial literacy through the CFO’s Peso Sense. He discussed the tools available to overseas Filipinos, such as the Peso Sense modules and the Facebook page where they can access varied financial tips and strategies. He also offered several ways how the migrant workers can grow their money through investments, bonds, savings, and more.

Lastly, Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) Director Andrea Luisa Anolin discussed the National Reintegration Program. The program employs many programs that help overseas workers who plan to, or have returned to the Philippines under a 3-pronged approach: Kalinga, Kaalaman, Kabuhayan. Director Anolin stressed the importance of planning the OFW’s return to the Philippines.

The event was streamed live through the CFO and Enrich HK’s respective Facebook pages and was also attended by CFO Executive Director Ma. Arlene Borja and PMD Chief, Marita Del Rosario Apattad.
